Privacy Policy

Your Privacy Matters
txt.edit is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how we use it.
Your Files
All your files stay on your device. txt.edit does not upload, store, or access your files on any server. Your documents remain completely private and under your control.
When you use cloud storage providers like Dropbox, Google Drive, or iCloud, those files are handled directly by those services according to their own privacy policies. txt.edit only accesses them through the standard iOS Files app integration.
Analytics We Collect
We use PostHog to collect basic lifecycle events to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This includes:
- App launches and sessions
 - Feature usage (e.g., which features are used most)
 - Basic device information (iOS version, device type)
 - Crash reports to help fix bugs

We do NOT collect:
- The content of your files
 - File names or folder structures
 - Personal information like email addresses or names
 - Location data
 - Any data that can identify you personally

Third-Party Services
txt.edit integrates with:
- PostHog - Analytics platform for basic usage tracking
 - iOS Files App - For accessing files from cloud storage providers
 - Cloud Storage - Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud (optional, user-initiated only)

These services have their own privacy policies that govern their use of data.
Data Retention
Analytics data collected via PostHog is retained for analysis purposes. Since we don't collect personally identifiable information, there is no personal data to delete.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of any material changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy.
